Henry Lemoine
French music educator, composer and publisher of music books. He was born in Paris in 1786 and died in Ebenda in 1854. In 1816 he took over from his father Antoine - Marcel Lemoine the music publishing house that he had founded in 1722 and still exists today under the name "Editions Henry Lemoine". In 1850 Lemoine became blind and handed over the management of his publishing house to his son Achille Lemoine.
Lemoine composed a number of music education works, among others the piano method and the 50 easy exercises op. 37, an extensive collection of the famous bagatelles for piano and the Recreations musikales.
The "50 Easy Exercises op. 37" are a very interesting combination of exercises and tasks for the piano student that covers the whole spectrum of technical exercises (from the simple to the arpeggio).
